The May Fair Hotel has partnered with Pride in London & OUTstanding to host a Pride in the City event looking at getting all you London boys, girls, trans, queer and others to join us for a night of drinks, chats and a movie.
The movie we will be showing is Torch Song Trilogy. It is about Arnold, a famous drag queen who tragically lost his lover (Alan) in a hate crime his lover tried to prevent. Arnold is now torn between his memories on Alan, his bisexual lover Ed, their new adopted teenage gay son David.
About the Night:
We invite you to join us for some drinks and networking with other LGBT+ from around London. 100% of the proceeds collected from ticket sales collected on the night will be donated to Pride in London, helping us to throw the best LGBT+ event in the UK!
Prior to the movie, we will be welcoming guest speaker, Jonathan Andrews, Head of the London Bisexual Network, to come and share their experiences of what the ‘B’ in LGBT+ means to them prior to the film. We also just confirmed a second guest speaker will be using this event to come out… how exciting!
From 6:00: Drinks & Networking
7:00 – 7:20: Pre-Film Introduction by our Featured Speaker
7:30: The Show Begins!
After the show, stay with us for some more drinks!

More on the Movie:
Tony Award-winning actor and playwright Harvey Fierstein re-creates his role as the unsinkable Arnold Beckoff in this film adaptation of the smash Broadway play TORCH SONG TRILOGY. A very personal story that is both funny and poignant, TORCH SONG TRILOGY chronicles a New Yorker’s search for love, respect and tradition in a world that seems not especially made for him. From Arnold’s hilarious steps toward domestic bliss with a reluctant school teacher, to his first truly promising love affair with a young fashion model, Arnold’s greatest challenge remains his complicated relationship with his mother. But armed with a keenly developed sense of humor and oftentimes piercing wit, Arnold continues to test the commonly accepted terms of endearment–and endurance–in a universally affecting story that confirms that happiness is well worth carrying a torch for.
