Celebrate the launch of the 2017 Pride in London festival at Tate Britain
To celebrate the powerful role of the LGBTQ+ community in arts and culture, Queer and Now invites people of all ages and identities to join in a host of live performances, talks, music, film and dance from artists rooted in the UK’s queer community.
Explore our landmark exhibition Queer British Art, 1861-1967 through music and lip syncing with artist Paul Maheke and curator Cédric Fauq, learn to vogue with Jay Jay Revlon, get a free manicure with trans activist Charlie Craggs, dance to DJ sets from Sink the Pink and DJ Ritu and enjoy a special selection of rarely seen films and documentaries from the BFI national archive.
Plus, hear from a host of LGBTQ+ speakers, drop in to fun family-friendly activities for all ages, browse craft stalls from Etsy and Bar Wotever’s Queer Fayre, enjoy delicious local food, music, dancing and more.
All Festival activity is free, but some events are ticketed on a first-come first-served basis.
You can see Queer British Art 1861-1967 at a reduced ticket price of £10 all day. Tickets available from Manton ticket desk. Exhibition open until 21.45.
A quiet, time-out space will be made available at Tate Britain for the duration of the festival.
Tate Britain is equipped with all-gender bathroom facilities.
