You are invited to join The DC Center for the LGBT Community and the Capital Pride Alliance for our event, Roar & Restore: Community Conversations. The afternoon will be filled with conversation, reflection, collaboration, and restoration this Saturday, December 10th 2016 from 12pm to 3pm at The Reeves Center (2000 14th St NW, Washington, DC 20009).
The results of November 8th’s election have left our community feeling an entire spectrum of emotions–from devastation and concern, to hopefulness and determination. Regardless of where you might find yourself on that spectrum, we invite you to join us and engage other members of the community in an open and productive discussion. A brief schedule of the day is as follows:
Large group discussion, moderated by a facilitator | Affinity break-out groups, as determined by some of the most pressing LGBT cocncerns (i.e., issues that affect the trans community, issues that affect LGBT people of color, issues that affect LGBT families, etc) | Artistic expression, both with small groups and individually
Soup will be provided for lunch!
For more information about the event, please do not hesitate to contact our event coordinator, Cierra Buckner at cierrabuckner@thedccenter.org or by calling (202) 682-2245.
